Body Image Battles: When Friends Make Comments on your Body

Decreased negative thoughts about your body in Menopause?

That’s pretty awesome.

Aging brings about many thoughts about ourselves and bodies.

We don’t love the changes, if we are being really honest. But many of us are working hard on the negative things we say to ourselves.

(If you’re not, perhaps this episode will help.)

By working on this negative attitude towards ourselves, we gain a whole different perspective on our age and body.

Sometimes things will happen that make you feel like you took a step back, in feeling good about yourself. Like shopping for clothes, post pandemic. Or seeing friends, where comments are made about other women’s bodies. Maybe even your own.

This happened to me. I was trying something on, and it didn’t fit. My friend said:

“Well, it’s your hips.”

Thanks, I know that. And Negative thoughts about my body came back.

In this episode, I talk about how the desire to diet creeps up when we are with other women, who believe that thinner is healthier, and better.

And that’s all they talk about. Tune in on iTunes and Spotify
